# Automagically: Running Runbooks

> Overview of the four ways to run a runbook in Automagically: directly from the platform, from a ticket link, through Super Magic, or via Triage Agent intents.

> Automagically is currently in a **closed beta**.

Runbooks are pre-built automations that handle IT tasks end-to-end. Instead of executing a series of manual steps across multiple admin portals, you run a single automation that handles everything.

Don't have a runbook for the task yet? Creating one is as simple as describing what you need in plain English. Learn more in [Building Runbooks](https://docs.getthread.com/automagically/automagically-getting-started.md).

## Ways to run a runbook

There are four ways to run a runbook in Automagically:

* **[Running from Automagically](https://docs.getthread.com/automagically/running-runbooks/running-from-automagically.md):** run any runbook directly from the Automagically platform, with full control over client selection and inputs.
* **[Running from the ticket](https://docs.getthread.com/automagically/running-runbooks/running-from-the-ticket.md):** when Automagically identifies a runbook that matches a ticket, it posts an internal note with a link to the recommended runbooks. Opening the link takes you straight to the recommended runbook, with the client and ticket context already loaded.
* **[Running from Super Magic](https://docs.getthread.com/automagically/running-runbooks/running-from-super-magic.md):** Super Magic proactively suggests matching runbooks based on the ticket context, or you can ask it to run one directly from the chat.
* **Running via Intents:** automate runbook execution through Thread's [Triage Agent](https://docs.getthread.com/magic-agents/triage-agent/overview). When a matching ticket comes in, the agent collects the required inputs directly from the end user and triggers the runbook automatically. Intents can be configured to run immediately or to wait for technician approval first.

## Runbook execution results

Every run produces a result, whether you started it from Automagically, a ticket, Super Magic, or an intent. See [Runbook Execution Results](https://docs.getthread.com/automagically/running-runbooks/runbook-execution-results.md) for where results show up and how to interpret them.
