> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://docs.getthread.com/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Set Up the ConnectWise Automate Integration > Create the user class, API user, and permissions in ConnectWise Automate so Thread can push RMM alerts and data into your chat platform as messages. ## Overview The Thread integration lets you seamlessly push data from ConnectWise Automate as messages to your chat platform. ## Set up the integration This section of the guide requires you to use ConnectWise Automate Control Center and an Automate account that has permissions to create Users and User Classes. 1. Open Automate Control Center and log in as an Administrator. 2. Navigate to **System** > **Users and Contacts** > **User Class Manager** 3. The **User Class Manager screen** will pop up, click the **+** icon at the bottom left corner of this window User Class Manager screen with the add icon 4. The **Add User Class** window will pop up, enter whatever you like for class name, we recommend "Thread API User", click **OK** Add User Class window 5. Back on the **User Class Manager** window, click on the class you just created to edit it. Stay on the **Core** tab for now. User Class Manager Core tab 6. On the **Core** tab set the appropriate permissions based on the screenshots below. Click **Save** once you are done checking the appropriate permissions. Core tab permissions part 1 Core tab permissions part 2 7. Next, click on the Plugin tab. **Set top-level permissions** to the **ConnectWise Control Plugin** and click **Save**. Plugin tab permissions 8. Thats it! You are now ready to assign this User Class to the API User you created. This step can be performed from the Automate web portal or Control Center application. 1. Open Automate Control Center and log in as an Administrator. 2. Navigate to **System** > **Users and Contacts** > **Users** 3. From the Users screen, click **+ Add** to add a new user. Configure the following on the **General** tab: 5. **Enter Username** - save this to your Password vault for later 6. **Enter Password** & **Confirm Password** - save this to your Password vault for later 7. **Email Address** 8. Check the **Integrator** checkboxFailure to check the Integrator checkbox will result in the integration failing. Add a New User General tab 5. Next, from the **Add a New User** window, navigate to the **Permissions** tab. 6. **Right-click** on **User Classes** box and **select the User Class** you created back in Step 1. We named the user class "Thread API User", so we selected that for this step. Permissions tab User Classes selection 7. Once you have granted the new user the appropriate user class permissions, click **Add New**. Add New user confirmation 1. In the integrations list you'll find the Automate option, click on it to configure it. Automate option in the integrations list 3. You'll need 2 things to configure Automate: 4. **Base URL**: Fill in your base URL (e.g. **[https://mycomany.hostedrmm.com](https://mycomany.hostedrmm.com)**) for CW Automate followed by '/cwa/api/v1/', so it looks like **[https://mycompany.hostedrmm.com/cwa/api/v1](https://mycompany.hostedrmm.com/cwa/api/v1)** 5. **Username and Password**: These are the credentials you use to log into your CW Automate dashboard. Automate configuration fields 4. Enter in the credentials from the API user account you created in Step 2. And click **Connect**. 5.
