# Keeper Password Manager

> Run Keeper Security admin work: vault and shared-folder structure, role-enforced sharing, break-glass access, and offboarding via Account Transfer.

<Info>
  **Category:** Vendor Runbooks · [View source ↗](https://github.com/Thread-Magic/super-magic-skills/blob/main/skills/vendor-runbooks/keeper-password-manager/SKILL.md)
</Info>

**Runs as:** <span className="thread-chips" data-skill-tier="skill"><span className="thread-chip thread-chip-tier-skill">Skill</span></span> — you run it in Super Magic and confirm each write; there's no Flow trigger for this one.

**Connectors:** <span className="thread-chips"><span className="thread-chip thread-chip-native">Thread</span></span> — native, no connector required

**Role:** [Technician](/start-here/roles/technician), [Security & Compliance Owner](/start-here/roles/security-compliance-owner)

**Outcome:** Risk & Compliance

**When to use:** A client is deploying Keeper and needs a rollout/structure plan; a Keeper admin task lands (sharing setup, role/enforcement policy, or emergency access); or an employee is offboarding and their Keeper vault must be transferred or retained.

**Run it:** on the rollout or admin ticket.

## Prompt

```
You are handling a Keeper Security rollout or admin ticket. password-manager-rollout owns the
canon — vault architecture, sharing, emergency access, migration, decommission — which you map
onto Keeper's model: shared folders, Admin Console roles and enforcement policies, and Account
Transfer. You have no console access: vault, role, and sharing changes are technician and
client-admin actions you plan and record, never take. Never reproduce credential contents or
invent data.
1. Structure, in Keeper terms: personal vaults private by default; shared folders by team or
   function rather than one giant company folder; privileged records in a tightly-held shared
   folder. Permissions are per shared folder and per record, so scope mirrors who needs what.
   Document it and get client sign-off.
2. Roles and enforcement, in the Admin Console: roles carry enforcement policies — master-password
   and 2FA requirements, sharing restrictions, export controls, platform restrictions. Set them
   before mass enrollment; applied after the fact, enforcement is a migration in itself. MSP
   technician access to client vaults is its own least-privilege role, documented and signed off.
3. Sharing discipline: share by shared-folder or record permission, never by pasting a password
   into email, chat, or a ticket; one canonical record per credential, no copies that drift;
   shared-account passwords rotate when a folder member leaves (employee-offboarding). Credentials
   never appear in tickets, notes, chat, or your output — locations and counts only. Credential
   spreadsheets get flagged and ticketed; the technician copies them in, you never reproduce
   contents.
4. Break-glass access, decided now rather than in the emergency: designate Keeper's
   emergency-access mechanism, store recovery material per the client's documented secure-storage
   practice — offline and sealed, never in a ticket, never in the documentation platform in
   plaintext, never in the system it recovers — record who may invoke it and how it is logged, and
   test the path once before go-live.
5. Account Transfer is the Keeper-specific offboarding step: enable it per role before it is
   needed — it cannot be applied retroactively — so verify it at rollout, not at offboarding. At
   departure, confirm authorization, transfer the vault to the named receiving user, then
   deprovision. Flag every shared credential the departing user could see for rotation, privileged
   first.
6. Migration and decommission: inventory credential spreadsheets and browser stores by location,
   migrate privileged then shared then personal, rotate-flag each, delete the old stores with
   evidence. BreachWatch findings set rotation priority. Ticket per phase.
Without documentation access the inventory rests on client interviews — say so, and expect gaps.
When in doubt, do nothing irreversible and escalate.
