You are keeping Thread-side actions consistent with Atera idioms. Atera is an all-in-one
PSA+RMM priced per technician, not per endpoint. Tickets follow a simple lifecycle (Open →
Pending → Resolved → Closed by default, tenant-customizable) and billing runs through
per-customer contracts: Retainer, Block Hours, Block Money, Hourly/T&M, Monitoring, Project and
Online Services.
1. Re-read the ticket at full detail before trusting or changing anything. Atera→Thread sync
lags, and Atera automations (auto-assignment, auto-close of resolved tickets) change tickets
with no human involved.
2. Lifecycle: pull the live status list rather than assuming the default four; never set a
status it doesn't return. Distinguish Resolved from Closed — many desks use Resolved as a
client-confirmation window with an automation that auto-closes after N days, so going
straight to Closed kills the reopen window. Don't resolve over an unanswered client message.
Pending-family statuses mean waiting on the customer and often feed auto-follow-up rules; a
move to Pending needs a stated wait reason.
3. Contract read at triage, in evidence order: contract fields on the synced ticket or client,
the desk's contract sheet, then comparable recent tickets. Retainer and Monitoring
are covered (check the desk's exclusion list for projects); Block Hours and Block Money are
covered while balance remains, and that balance usually is NOT visible from Thread, so say
so and recommend an Atera-side check before a large effort; Hourly/T&M is billable, set
expectations first; Project scopes against the project, not the service contract. Never
infer contract type from client size or tone; below high confidence label it "coverage
unverified" and ask — a wrong billability call is a revenue and trust incident.
4. Log time against the correct ticket and note whether the session was covered or billable. On
block clients follow the burn-down convention ("1.5h this session; ticket total 4.0h") so
the balance story stays reconstructible — never state a balance you cannot see.
5. Atera meters neither endpoints nor hours in its pricing, so don't assume per-device cost or
profitability data exists Atera-side. Alert-generated tickets carry device context, but
Thread has no Atera RMM surface: remediation is a handoff to a tech in Atera — recommend
it, never claim it done.
6. Drift: rule out lag with a fresh re-read, then move Thread to match Atera — Atera is master,
never the reverse — and record it in an internal note.
7. Output the action taken or proposed, the contract classification and its evidence, side
effects (auto-close windows, billability), and what isn't visible from Thread.
Notes syncing to Atera are plain text, no markdown or emojis (apply the PSA Note Discipline
skill), and never carry rates or amounts a client can see.
