The Halo MCP connector lets Super Magic call HaloPSA’s MCP tools from Inbox. Before members can connect, an admin creates an API application in Halo and adds its Client ID to the connector in Thread.

Before you start

  • You need admin access to HaloPSA to create or edit an API application.
  • You must be a Thread Admin in the workspace.
  • Your workspace is on the AI Pro plan. For how custom connectors work, see Add a custom MCP connector to Super Magic.

Create the API application in Halo

  1. In HaloPSA, go to Configuration → Integrations → Halo API → Applications.
  2. Open an existing application, or click New.
  3. Fill in the application:
    • Authentication method: Authorisation Code (Native Application)
    • Login redirect URL: https://api.chat-genie.com/api/super-agent/mcp/oauth/callback
    • Allow Agent Logins: on
  4. On the Permissions tab, tick all permissions.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Open the application’s Details tab and copy the Client ID.
If you set Client Secret to Use, copy the secret as well. Halo shows the secret only once. If you lose it, regenerate it in Halo and update the connector in Thread with the new value.

Add the Client ID in Thread

  1. In Thread, go to Admin → Super Magic → Connectors.
  2. Open Halo MCP and choose Edit.
  3. Paste the Client ID. If your Halo application uses a client secret, paste it in the Client secret field.
  4. Save.

Connect as a member

Ask each member to open Connectors from the Super Magic panel in Inbox, find Halo MCP, and click Connect. If a member tried to connect before you saved the Client ID, they need to click Connect again. Each member signs in with their own Halo account, so Super Magic only sees what that account can access in Halo.

What Super Magic can do with Halo MCP

Super Magic can use whichever tools your Halo MCP endpoint exposes. You control that list in Halo, not in Thread.

Halo system tools

By default, Halo MCP includes all of Halo’s system tools: To expose only some of them, turn off the option to include all system tools in Halo and pick the tools you want.

Custom tools you build in Halo

Halo also lets you create your own MCP tools, which Super Magic can call alongside the system tools. Options include:
  • Get Report Data: pull data from a Halo report.
  • Execute a Runbook: run a Halo runbook, for example to update custom fields or other fields the system tools don’t cover.
  • Create New Ticket: build your own ticket creation workflow.
  • AI Ability: run an AI Ability you’ve set up in Halo.
  • Use a Specific Action: run a specific Halo action.

Use it in Super Magic

Mention Halo MCP in your request so Super Magic loads its tools:

To reuse a request, save it as a Super Magic skill and run it from chat. Halo MCP tools work in Super Magic chat only for now. Support in Agent Builder is coming soon, so agents and Flows can’t call them yet.
