Add External Tools to Super Magic with Connectors (Super MCP)
Connectors — also called Super MCP — let Super Magic use tools from products your team already works in, so a technician can create a Linear issue, write a Notion runbook, or trigger a Zapier automation right from the ticket conversation.
Available connectors
Linear (issues, projects, and cycles), Notion (read/write pages, databases, and docs), and Zapier (reach any tool through your configured Zaps). Liongard (environments, systems, metrics, alerts, detections, timelines, reports) , NinjaOne see Connect NinjaOne to Super Magic.
How connectors differ from integrations
- Integrations (IT Glue, Hudu, TimeZest, Liongard) are connected once for the whole workspace with company credentials.
Lionguard MCP Connector is not yet available through Thread MCP** - Connectors are personal: an admin makes them available, then each member signs in with their own account. A connector acts as you — your Linear account, your Notion access.
NinjaOne is the one capability that's both — see Connect NinjaOne to Super Magic.
For admins: enable connectors for your workspace
- Open Super Magic settings → Connectors.
- Turn on the toggle for each connector you want members to be able to use.
That's it — but note: enabling a connector doesn't connect anyone. It just makes the connector show up on members' Connectors page so they can sign in themselves.
For members: connect your accounts
- Open the Connectors page in your Inbox (from your profile menu).
- You'll see every connector your admin has enabled. Click Connect on one.
- Sign in to that product and approve the access request.
- Back on the page, the connector shows Signed in as your account, and the button changes to Disconnect.
Each connection is tied to your account only — your teammates connect their own. Disconnect anytime; you'll just need to sign in again to reuse it.
Using connector tools in chat
Once connected, the connector's tools simply join your Super Magic toolset — ask naturally:
"Create a Linear issue for this bug and link the ticket"
"Find the Notion runbook for client onboarding"
"Trigger the new-client Zap for Acme"
And with your NinjaOne account connected (see Connect NinjaOne to Super Magic):
"Is John's laptop online? Any alerts on it?"
"Show me recent activity for DESKTOP-7842"
"Restart the print spooler on the front-desk PC"
Anything that changes something in the connected product — including device actions like a reboot — goes through the same Confirm action card as every other Super Magic write.
Troubleshooting
- Connector not on your Connectors page? Your admin hasn't enabled it (or your workspace isn't in the release yet).
- Enabled but tools not working? You're probably not connected — check the Connectors page for Signed in as. If it shows connected but fails, disconnect and reconnect (your sign-in may have been revoked on the other product's side).
- Anything else — Super Magic Admin Guide → Troubleshooting.
