Downloading, Alerts & Scheduling

Updated by Bryan Chapman

Magic Analytics lets you take your data with you — download it, get alerted when something changes, or have a dashboard delivered to your inbox on a schedule. You can act on a whole dashboard or a single tile/query.

Tile and dashboard actions

You can download an individual tile from its menu. To download the full dashboard, use the download option in the bottom-left corner of the dashboard.

What it does

Ask a follow up question

Opens the Dashboard Agent focused on that tile so you can dig deeper (AI Pro). See Dashboard Agent.

Download…

Export that tile's data or image.

Alert…

Get notified when the tile's results meet a condition you set.

Schedule delivery…

Have that tile delivered automatically on a recurring schedule.

The menu also shows how many filters are applied and the "Query ran…" timestamp so you know how current the data is.

Downloading

You can download an individual tile from its menu. To download the full dashboard, use the download option in the bottom-left corner of the dashboard.

  1. PDF — great for sharing a polished snapshot; options for paper size, single-column layout, and expanding tables.
  2. PNG — an image of the dashboard or tile.
  3. XLSX / CSV — the underlying data for your own analysis (a CSV download packages each tile as its own file).

Alerts

Alerts can be created from an individual tile using its menu or for an entire dashboard from the options in the bottom-left corner. Alerts notify you only when a specified condition is met, such as when results change or new results are returned, so you can focus on exceptions instead of checking dashboards manually.

Scheduled delivery

Schedules deliver content on a recurring frequency (daily, weekly, or a custom cadence) to a destination such as email. Pick the format (PDF, PNG, XLSX, CSV), the timezone, and which filters to apply. You can schedule from an individual tile using its menu or for an entire dashboard from the options in the bottom-left corner.

Because data refreshes daily, scheduling a morning delivery gives you yesterday's complete numbers.

FAQ

Why doesn't my export match what I see on screen?
Confirm the filters and date range were the same, and check the "Query ran…" timestamp — the data refreshes daily.
